Aaron Schmoll joined Lewis Kappes in 2017. Aaron has extensive experience in utility regulation, having practiced at the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission as a Senior Administrative Law Judge for 12 years. Over that time, Aaron advised the Commission on numerous rate proceedings, requests for certificates of pubic convenience and necessity, tracker proceedings, telecommunication arbitrations, and a variety of other contested matters involving electric, gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications utilities. Aaron also has significant experience in environmental law, having practiced at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for five years, advising the department on air and hazardous waste enforcement and permitting matters.
Aaron also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable L. Mark Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals. In law school, Aaron was a managing editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal.
