Lewis Kappes attorney and founding partner, Philip (Skip) Kappes, was recognized as a Distinguished Life Fellow at the 2019 IndyBar and Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF) awards breakfast on November 19. Each year the IBF honors lawyers for their dedication to the law by bestowing on them the designation of Distinguished Fellow and Distinguished Life Fellow. IBF Distinguished Fellows have a long record of service, have an exemplary standing, and have made exceptional contributions to the Indianapolis legal community. Distinguished Life Fellows have continued to show their dedication to the law over their extensive careers.
For over 70 years, Mr. Kappes has been a prominent lawyer and community leader. Mr. Kappes is a founder of the law firm, Lewis Kappes, a former president of the IndyBar, has served extensively and contributed much to his beloved Butler University, the Boy Scouts of America, the Scottish Rite, the Indiana State Bar Association, and has been instrumental to the creation and success of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Mr. Kappes is the epitome of professional decorum and responsibility.
