Aaron Schmoll has extensive experience in utility regulation, having practiced at the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) as a Senior Administrative Law Judge for 12 years. Over that time, Aaron advised the Commission on numerous rate proceedings, requests for certificates of pubic convenience and necessity, tracker proceedings, telecommunication arbitrations, and a variety of other contested matters involving electric, gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications utilities.
Aaron also has significant experience in environmental law, having practiced at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for five years, advising the department on air and hazardous waste enforcement and permitting matters.
In addition to his experience in the utility and environmental areas, Aaron has over 20 years’ experience of administrative law practice, and has represented license holders in administrative proceedings before the Indiana Department of Insurance.
He served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable L. Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals. In law school, Aaron was a managing editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal.
Aaron draws upon his previous experiences in the government sector to assist clients with their energy and utility law cases as well as environmental and litigation matters.
